Welcome to Skën Med Spa, where Swedish-inspired sophistication meets advanced aesthetic medicine. By booking treatments, using our services, or accessing our facilities at our Arlington, Virginia and Lakewood, Colorado locations, you agree to these Terms of Service. We are committed to providing exceptional care while maintaining the highest professional standards that reflect our Nordic heritage of precision and quality.

Medical Services & Treatment Policies

All aesthetic and wellness treatments at Skën Med Spa are provided under strict medical oversight by licensed healthcare professionals. Prior to any treatment, clients must complete a comprehensive medical consultation to ensure treatment appropriateness and safety. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete medical history, including all medications, supplements, previous treatments, and health conditions that may affect treatment outcomes.

Clients must be 18 years or older to receive treatments, or have documented parental consent for minors. Certain treatments may have additional age restrictions or requirements. You acknowledge that aesthetic treatments carry inherent risks, and while our practitioners maintain the highest safety standards, individual results may vary.

Pre-treatment preparation and post-treatment care instructions are mandatory and must be followed precisely to ensure optimal results and minimize complications. Failure to follow pre-care instructions may result in treatment postponement. Post-treatment care is essential for proper healing and achieving desired outcomes.

We maintain a commitment to realistic expectations and natural-looking results. During your consultation, we will discuss anticipated outcomes, treatment limitations, and any potential side effects. Results from aesthetic treatments vary based on individual factors including age, skin condition, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare instructions.

Booking, Scheduling & Cancellation Policies

Appointments may be booked through our online booking system, by phone, or in person. All appointments require advance booking, and same-day availability cannot be guaranteed. Consultation appointments are required before most treatments and may be scheduled separately from treatment appointments.

We require 24-48 hours advance notice for cancellations or rescheduling, depending on the treatment type and duration. Cancellations made with less than required notice may result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service cost. No-show appointments will be charged the full service fee.

Emergency cancellations due to illness, family emergencies, or severe weather conditions will be handled on a case-by-case basis and may be exempt from cancellation fees. We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to practitioner availability, equipment maintenance, or unforeseen circumstances.

For your safety and the safety of others, please do not visit our facilities if you are experiencing any illness symptoms, have been exposed to contagious conditions, or have active skin infections in treatment areas.

Payment Terms & Membership Policies

Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards for qualifying treatments. Payment plans and financing options are available through our "Click to Qualify" financing partners, subject to credit approval and program terms.

Our membership program requires annual payment of $360, providing exclusive benefits including 20% off Botox, 25% off facials, and 10% off all other services. Membership benefits begin immediately upon payment and are valid for 12 months from the enrollment date. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable, but benefits may be used at both Arlington and Lakewood locations.

Gift certificates are available for purchase and make excellent gifts for any occasion. Gift certificates are valid for 12 months from the purchase date and may be applied toward any services at either location. Gift certificates are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person with proper documentation.

Refunds are provided only in exceptional circumstances and at management discretion. Service credits may be offered for unsatisfactory results or treatment complications, subject to evaluation by our medical team. Membership fees, consultation fees, and completed services are generally non-refundable.

Privacy, Confidentiality & Client Information

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining strict confidentiality of all medical and personal information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and applicable state privacy laws. Your treatment records, consultation notes, and personal information are securely stored and accessible only to authorized personnel directly involved in your care.

Photography of treatment areas may be taken for medical documentation, progress tracking, and with your explicit consent, marketing purposes. You maintain control over the use of your images and may withdraw consent at any time. Before/after photographs used for marketing purposes require written authorization and may be used in our gallery, website, social media, and promotional materials.

Our client portal provides secure access to your treatment history, appointment scheduling, and account information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your portal login credentials. We may share relevant medical information between our Arlington and Lakewood locations to ensure continuity of care and optimal treatment planning.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time while remaining enrolled in essential appointment reminders and treatment-related communications.

Liability Limitations & Assumption of Risk

By receiving treatments at Skën Med Spa, you acknowledge that aesthetic and wellness treatments carry inherent risks including but not limited to temporary swelling, bruising, discomfort, allergic reactions, and in rare cases, more serious complications. While our practitioners are highly trained and follow strict safety protocols, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or eliminate all treatment risks.

Our liability for treatment outcomes is limited to the cost of the specific service performed. We maintain appropriate professional liability insurance and follow established medical protocols to ensure your safety. In the event of a medical emergency during treatment, we will provide immediate appropriate care and coordinate with emergency medical services as needed.

You acknowledge that individual healing responses vary and that following pre-care and post-care instructions is essential for optimal results. Complications arising from failure to follow provided instructions may not be covered under our standard service policies.

We encourage open communication about your concerns, expectations, and any unusual symptoms following treatments. Our practitioners are available for post-treatment consultations and will address any complications promptly and professionally.

Intellectual Property & Proprietary Information

Skën Med Spa, our logo, Swedish heritage branding, and all website content are protected by copyright and trademark laws. Our treatment protocols, Swedish-inspired wellness philosophy, and proprietary service approaches are confidential business information.

Client testimonials, reviews, and images provided to us may be used in our marketing materials with proper attribution and consent. You retain ownership of your personal stories and images while granting us usage rights for promotional purposes.

Our Swedish heritage story, brand narrative, and cultural positioning elements are proprietary to Skën Med Spa and protected intellectual property. Unauthorized use of our branding, treatment protocols, or proprietary methodologies is prohibited.

Modifications, Governing Law & Contact Information

These Terms of Service may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our policies, services, or legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated via email and posted on our website at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of updated terms.

For our Arlington, Virginia location, these terms are governed by Virginia state law. For our Lakewood, Colorado location, these terms are governed by Colorado state law. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in the applicable state jurisdiction.
